Easily grown in moist but well drained soil in a spot in partial sun: at least three ours of sun per day. No pruning is necessary, unless removing dead stems. Hydrangea macrophylla flowers on old wood, so if you do need to prune, the best time is in summer when flowerbus for the following year are not set yet. These flower buds are produced from August to October.
