Variegated Feather Reed Grass - Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Avalanche'

A variegated form of 'Karl Foerster'. Deep green leaves with a distinct white stripe down the centre turn a tan color in winer. Narrow plumes of feathery, purplish-green flowers in early summer. Upright, clumping habit. Tolerant of moist soils.

Grow in well drained, fertile soil. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to new growth. Cut to ground in spring to encourage a flush of new growth. Divide in spring as needed to maintain plant vigor.
