Black Amber Plum - Prunus salicina 'Black Amber'

Super large beautiful black plum with amber flesh primarily used for puddings, pies and sauces. Good for eating fresh. Ripens mid-season. Requires pollination from other Japanese Plum (Prunus salicina) varieties. A University of California introduction in 1980.

Water regularly as needed. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to new spring growth. Prune when young to create an open branching structure that allows for even light distribution and more consistent ripening of fruit. Prune broken or damaged limbs.
