Prefers slightly acidic soil. If alkaline soil, topdress soil with aluminum sulfate to acidify soil and intensify the blue colour. Water regularly as needed. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer. Little pruning is necessary. Prune broken or damaged limbs.
