Golden Meadow Foxtail - Alopecurus pratensis 'Aureovariegatus'
This showy ornamental grass has leaves that are brightly striped with green and bright yellow. Short tan spikes are not particularly showy and should be removed to prevent seeding. The low-growing, mound-like habit is a great filler in the perennial bed.
Prefers in moist, well drained soil. Fertilize in spring, prior to new growth. Cut back spent flowers to keep tidy and avoid self sowing. Allow soil to become moderately dry in winter. Avoid hot dry locations during summer months. Easily divided in fall or early spring.
