Explorer Series (1982). Large dark velvety red double flower clusters produced repeatedly summer through fall. Moderately fragrant. Good resistance to powdery mildew and black spot. Orange hips produced. Introduced by Agriculture Canada.

Water regularly. Feed in spring. Can prune back heavily in spring, even with severe die back to promote vigorous new growth as low as the roots. During the breeding process, plants were never sprayed for black spot and mildew, allowing only the strongest to survive.
