A deciduous vine with 6-12" long racemes of fragrant, pea-like, lavender blue flowers that start blooming in June. Velvety, bean-like seed pods add to winter interest. Ideal for arching over gateways and entries or along top of a well. Plant in Full Sun.

Water regularly as needed. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to new spring growth. Prune about 1/3 old stems out each year after blooming. Cutback heavily every few years to rejuvenate and promote strong new growth and flower buds to form for the following year.
