Prefers a moist well drained, slightly acid soil but will tolerate any soil. Feed in spring just before new growth begins. Remove spent blooms. Prune to remove broken or damaged limbs. Can be cut back heavily in spring to near ground level to rejuvenate and promote strong growth.
