An irregular broadly pyramidal stately tree with shiny green leaves through the summer that turn a brilliant scarlet red in fall and carries on into winter. Produces small acorns. Native to many parts of Eastern North America.

Prefers moist woodland soils. Water regularly as needed. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to new spring growth. Little pruning is necessary. Prune broken or damaged limbs.
